James Caruso

James is proud to be a co-captain of the 2008 Cougar Lacrosse team. Since he has been a part of MHS Lacrosse the team captains have all been great players, friends and leaders. He knows that his fellow co-captains, Kevin Hover, Kevin Watson and Chris Durik possess these same qualities and will help the 2008 team build upon the program’s success and maximize its great potential this season.

As the co-captain representing the defense, James is excited about the commitment of the “D” unit to work hard to improve over a solid 2007 performance. He is personally committed to strengthening his on and off the field leadership and improving upon all aspects of his game including a 2007 save percentage of 69%.

James developed as a leader and had a great learning experience as co-captain of the MHS Soccer team this past season.  He further understands that talent, commitment, passion, teamwork, intensity, and unmatched work ethic are all required to win a championship, and he is confident that the 2008 Lacrosse Team possesses these attributes.

James is also very excited about his Lacrosse future beyond High School and has committed to play Lacrosse next year at Cabrini College in Radnor PA. It is a D-III program that has won six straight PAC titles and has been selected to 5 straight NCAA tournaments. This past year, the Cavaliers ranked #10 in the final Coaches Poll improving upon a #15 ranking in 2006, and are in the Top 10 early this season. He looks forward to the challenge of College Lacrosse and living up to a high performance bar set for Cabrini goalies; each of the past two starting Cavalier goalies have been named College All-Americans. He looks forward to the challenge of College competition and further extending the success and tradition of Cougar Lacrosse.

Right now, he is excited to be a part of the 2008 Cougar Lacrosse team, honored to be a captain, and focused on helping the team repeat as State Champions.
