Mike Yetter

Mike Yetter is an accomplished athlete at Montgomery High School.  He has been a player on both the varsity hockey and lacrosse teams since his freshman year.  He has played an integral role in the growth and respect both teams have earned in the state.

Mike started skating at the age of five.  He played on several club hockey teams, culminating with a trip to Nationals in 2004, where his AAA Tier 1 team finished third in the nation.  That same year Mike began his hockey career at Montgomery High School, where he has been a solid contributor for four years.  During Mike’s participation the team has won two county tournaments, two division championships and a trip to the Continental Arena where they played in the public school championship game last year.  Mike’s contributions have earned him several honors.  As a sophomore he was selected the team MVP.  As a junior he led the team in points.  He was selected the Somerset County Tournament MVP and the Courier News Player of the Year.  He was named to the Public School Championship All Tournament Team.  As a senior Captain, he has led the team in points and broken the Montgomery High School all time scoring record.  A true team player, his point total is equally distributed between goals and assists.

Mike picked up his first lacrosse stick in the 6th grade when youth lacrosse began in the township.  He quickly developed a passion for the game.  He was selected to play on both the U13 and U15 state teams, representing the Montgomery Youth Lacrosse Club.  Mike has been a starting varsity attack man since his freshman year.  He has helped his team to earn two division championships, a county championship and qualification to the state tournament each year, going all the way to the Group II finals his junior year.  Mike was the 2nd leading scorer his freshman and sophomore years and led the team in scoring his junior year.  Through his junior season, Mike has scored 108 goals and had 70 assists.  He has received numerous recognitions for his accomplishments, including 1st Team All-State B, 1st Team Bianchi Division, 1st Team All- Skyland Conference, 1st Team Princeton Packet, 1st Team Trenton Times, 2nd Team Courier News and 3rd Team All-State Star Ledger his junior year.  He looks forward to working hard and to helping his team achieve success during his senior season.

Mike has chosen to continue playing lacrosse at Salisbury University next year.
