Sean Hover

Sean Hover is a versatile and unselfish athlete, who puts his “team” first.  He has played almost everything Montgomery has had to offer soccer, basketball, football, ice hockey, cross country, swimming, and baseball where his last game played was in the All-District Babe Ruth All-Star game in Trenton Thunder’s Waterfront Park.  Then as a freshman, Sean added lacrosse to his repertoire of sports.

He is a four year varsity player and Captain of the 2006 squad and will also serve as Captain for his second year for the MHS ice hockey team.  For him, it is about the team’s accomplishments:  he has won two Somerset County Championships; one in ice hockey and another this past spring in lacrosse.  He loves beating Pingry and Ridge!  For Lacrosse, being Curcio Division Champs as a sophomore, Bianchi Division Champs as a junior, only leads to his final goals as a senior:  one more Bianchi Division Championship, a Skyland Conference Championship, and a State Championship for the upcoming season.

He was captain of the Frosh football, then as a sophomore switched to Cross-Country to stay in shape for hockey and lacrosse.  His list of accolades include:  Sophomore year – Sportsmanship Award in ice hockey, in lacrosse All-Curcio 2nd team, All-Somerset 2nd team, and Skyland conference Honorable Mention; Junior Year –  All Area Princeton Packet, and Trenton Times – 1st team.

Sean is an intense competitor despite his soft-spoken style, and you don’t want to get hit by him!  A true scholar athlete, he has been on the Honor Roll every marking period since entering high school, is a member of the National Honor Society, and attended Boys’ State last summer.

Sean signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Rutgers.
